Bios
John W. Comerford
John’s music roots run deep as his first concert at the age of thirteen was at New York City’s Irving Plaza with the Dead Kennedys. He went on a dare and experienced the adrenaline fueled majesty of late 1970s punk rock, the next day wondering why every adult he encountered was not talking about this. Since then with initiations through decades of classic and visionary musical recordings and performances, he has returned to the club, the hall, the church, the stadium and the amphitheater to experience music. During the course of his career as a writer & producer of motion pictures John has commissioned composition, licensed, and filmed a wide variety of artists from Bill Frisell to Bob Marley to Esperanza Spalding. His non-profit board service and advisory work has included recognized film organizations such as Seattle International Film Festival, Los Angeles and Northwest music presenters The Jazz Bakery and Earshot and NPR radio broadcaster KNKX with operational budgets in the mid-six to mid-seven figure ranges. Mr. Comerford is co-founder of Trumusic and is based on the West Coast midway between Los Angeles and Seattle in the Bay Area.
